Rahshad "Rocky" Maduro

Rahshad was born on the island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to Vancito and Berencia Maduro. He began his education at Lockhart Elementary School in St. Thomas and later moved to Texas, where he graduated from Alief Hastings High School in Houston in 1995.

Rahshad was a warm and loving person, best known for giving unselfishly of himself. He never passed up an opportunity to help others and freely shared both his time and his possessions. His generosity, kindness, and open heart touched many lives.

One of the tattoos inscribed on Rocky’s wrist is Psalm 133:1, which reads:

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” This verse celebrates the blessings of unity among God’s people and encourages us to embrace change, seek balance, and trust our intuition. The benefits of unity—calmness, comfort, and goodness—were qualities Rocky embodied throughout his life.

On March 1, 2025, Rocky suffered a stroke and a brain aneurysm and was later diagnosed with Locked-In Syndrome. On January 7, 2026, his earthly journey came to an end. He now joins his father and other beloved relatives as he enters his eternal rest.

Rahshad leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Berencia Maduro; daughter, Ahliana Maduro; sisters, Rochelle Burke Walters, Rozzette Maduro, and Marisa Maduro Griffin; brothers, Kevin and Kishaun Maduro; aunts, Erna Williams, Jewel Harrigan, Valerie Johnson, Carol Samuel, Lenora Donovan, Patsy Maduro and Juliana Maduro; uncles, Julian Maduro, and Rudolph Maduro and a host of loving cousins and friends.

Rocky will be deeply missed, but never forgotten by his family and friends, who remain forever grateful for the time he shared with them and for the many ways he enlightened and uplifted their lives. His spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.

A visitation will be held at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, located at 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Celebration of Life will follow at the same location, starting at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
