At age 14, Rosie joined the Convent of the Devine Providence in San Antonio. After 23 years she left to care for her aging parents, who lived in Stafford, Texas. She joined Texas Instruments Inc. in Stafford, Texas where she worked until her retirement.

Rosie practiced her Catholic faith and was active in her church.

She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish on Navigation in Houston (only church she knew with Spanish mass). Later the family joined Holy Family in Stafford; it had Spanish mass on some Sundays, officiated by the Basilian Fathers. Then later, about, 1977-1978, the parish moved to Missouri City.

At about this time Rosie and Priscilla, together with other leaders, became charter members of the Guadalupanos of Holy Family. On December 12, 1979 the Guadalupe Society of Holy Family was formally installed, as an important ministry under the leadership of Father Robert Hall, of the Order of Basilian Fathers.

The story of Rosie Arriaga is not complete without the story of Guadalupe at Holy Family Parish in Missouri City. She has been an active member of Holy Family and Guadalupe Society for more than 46 years. She will be missed and remembered by many she touched, that she knew and many she did not know.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Monday, April 28 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 5th Street in Missouri City.

The Rite of Committal will follow, via funeral procession, to Davis Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Rosenberg.
