Samuel Anthony Jamison, age 77, passed at home, in Lakeway where he was a founding member of Tuscan Village. Sam spent a wonderful and happy Christmas with his family in Austin and Spring Branch. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and proud “Papa”.
He was born on June 26, 1937 in Dallas where he grew up and attended North Dallas High School. Sam then enlisted in the Navy where he was a Corpsmen. This is where Sam received his medical training which led to a career in the medical field after graduating from University of Texas at Arlington.
Sam and Virginia were married in Dallas in 1962 and went on to raise four children after moving to Houston in 1965. The Jamisons were very involved at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Sam supported the local Boy Scout Troop 80 along with the Knights of Columbus and anything Virginia was involved in.
Sam was a medical salesman for most of his life. He sold the first pacemaker and was present when it was installed by Drs. Debakey and Cooley in Houston.
As a foreign language major, Sam enjoyed practicing his Spanish throughout his travels. Mom and Dad were an adventurous pair and would take us all over the U.S. and Mexico, camping, scuba diving, fishing, tubing and exploring. Sam never met a stranger, anywhere he went people remembered his kind heart and charming smile. He could often be found on the dance floor of any social event, his card always full.
Sam also loved to entertain and could often be found out by his pool surrounded by family, friends, good music and libations.
He is survived by sons Samuel Jamison and Col. Marc Jamison and his wife Kassia and their children Amber, Sydney and William; his daughters Michelle Jamison Wilkins and her children, Sean and Madeleine; and Melinda Kane and her sons Parker, Harrison and Joshua.
