

Troy Eugene Shelton, a beloved and devoted family man, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on December 12, 1964, in Vernon, Texas, Troy grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, where he developed into a resilient and hard-working man.
Troy's early life was shaped by his upbringing in the roofing industry, where he made his living for many years. In 2010, he attended trade school, and by 2011, he had embarked on a successful career as an electrician in the oil industry. He retired in 2023 due to health issues.
In 1985, Troy met the love of his life, Linda, in Waco, Texas. They later married in 1990 in Florida. Known affectionately as Dad or Papa by everyone who knew him, Troy cherished family gatherings and had a special fondness for babies, regardless of whose they were.
An avid pool player, Troy also enjoyed bowling in his younger years. He had a passion for making coffee and spent every day with little Natalia. Troy loved traveling to new places, creating lasting memories with his wife and family.
Troy never met a stranger; to him, everyone was family. His welcoming nature and warmth left a lasting legacy on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Eugene Shelton, his mother, Bonnie Sue Davis, his brother, James William Shelton, and his sister, Rosie Francis Shelton.
Troy is survived by his wife, Linda Brown-Shelton, his daughters, Heather Riley (wife Anke) and Summer Shelton, his son, Anthony Shelton (wife Kristine), his first grandchild, whom he raised as his son, Robert Eugene Haner, his sister Melinda, and his brothers, Jackie ( wife Theresa), Gary (wife Jennifer), and Anthony (wife Beth). He also leaves behind grandchildren Samuel, Benjamin, Bradley, Spring, Austin, April, Angelito, Rosalina, Antonio, Josafina, Santiago, Tyler, Crysta, Ian, and Brittany, as well as great-grandchildren Jayden, Valentina, Natalia, Bradley Jr., Brendynn, Eden, and Isla.
He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on February 4, 2026, at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, located at 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, TX, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The committal service will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery Association, 7327 Rock Creek Rd, Waco, TX, from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
