Alex was a student at Virginia Commonwealth University and a graduate of Colonial Forge High School in Stafford County.
Alex leaves behind his parents, Derek and Jennifer Galatro; a brother, Josh Galatro; and a sister, Abby Galatro.
Alex was a varsity runner at Colonial Forge High School, an avid skier and scuba diver, and a music lover and self-proclaimed “Star Wars” geek. He spent his leisure time hanging with friends.
While Alex’s untimely passing was unexpected and tragic, he will leave a legacy of gifts to help others. Through his expressed wishes as a registered organ donor, Alex has donated gifts of life to help others have a second chance. This desire of his exemplifies who Alex was in life, a caring, generous individual who cared about others. This gift provides a great sense of pride and comfort to all of Alex’s family and friends.
A service to honor and to celebrate this wonderful life will be held Saturday, July 11, at Mount Ararat Baptist Church, 1112 Garrisonville Road, Stafford VA 22556 A viewing will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A ceremony celebrating Alex will follow from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the church.
