Allan Scott Matthews (Scott) Scott Matthews, a beloved husband and devoted father, peacefully departed from this world at his home on 11 April 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born in Bethesda Maryland on 28 January 1951 to Donald A. Matthews and Georginia Nutwell Matthews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Scott is survived by his wife, Shirley, son Michael (Amy), Daughter Michelle (Victor) and his three grandchildren Jillian, Ethen, Sydney and his granddog Mya. He attended Woodbridge Senior High School and lettered in Baseball. After High School he attended the Alexandria Barber Academy in Alexandria, VA and was a well known Barber in the Woodbridge area. He then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1969 and served 7 years. After his honorable discharge, he later began a 30 year career working for Mercedes - Benz of North America and Volvo as their Service Manager. Throughout his life, he exemplified the values of compassion, integrity, and selflessness. His unwavering commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. In addition to his devotion to his family, it brought him immense joy following the careers of his son and daughter. His role as a father was marked by boundless love and support, as he guided and nurtured them through life's journey. Scott will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, together, they built a life filled with love and countless cherished memories. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved. A visitation for Allan will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. His funeral service will occur Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home with his interment to follow at Stafford Memorial Park, 154 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
