Silvana, Joey, and Joao,
Our hearts break for you and your families in the great loss of your beloved Lela.  It is certainly not news to you that your mother was an amazing woman, but we hope it comforts you to know the ways in which she touched the hearts of so many others.  

For me, it all started when she made Erica's first little hand knit sweater.  We had all just recently met for the first time, so her kind gesture touched me more than she ever knew.  A few months later, she also made a matching outfit for Vanessa, so that my two little girls had their first "sister outfits", which they proudly wore for their Auntie Jackie's wedding.  And I'll never forget the perfect hat she whipped up at the last minute when Vanessa had belatedly informed me that she was supposed to dress as a Pilgrim for school the next day.  Astrid's many talents were as big as her heart, and she was like an "energizer bunny" in getting things done.

We will always remember our special family times together in Scituate. Our greatest loss has been in living so far apart in recent years.  Being miles away at a time like this is especially difficult, but I hope you know that we share your grief, and will always honor the gift of having known your mom.  God bless Astrid Angelica.  Her middle name says it all!

Tengo muy lindos recuerdos de la Tia, sobretodo desde mi adolecencia en adelante en la que compartimos mucho en familia, represento a mi familia en uno de los dia s mas importantes para mi cuando mi verdadera familia se encontraba lejos...esas son cosas que siempre recordare.

I can't believe you are gone.  We made plans together and now we can't hang out. I had no idea you were sick and I'm so heartbroken that you left so fast.  I will always remember your kind heart, sweet smile and sooting words. May your soul rest in peace and may God give you paradise.

Te recordaremos por siempre querida prima. Formaste una hermosa familia acá en Chile, luego en USA. Sólo dejas buenos recuerdos a todos quienes compartimos contigo. Gracias por haber sido parte de mi vida.

La Tia fue para mi una persona con gran corazon ,  llena de energia, que adoraba a todos sus nietos, la recordamos con carino y mas por que su cumpleanos era el mismo dia que el de nuestro hijo Joel. Dios la tenga es su reino y juntito a su querido esposo del que tanto platicaba.

 I know you have lost a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, as she always spoke lovingly and proudly of her family here and in Chile.
 We also shared a love of the beautiful "fado" that gave her wonderful memories of years gone by, so now when I listen to that beautiful music I will always think of her.

 De lo poco que compartimos con Astrid , nos pudimos dar cuenta lo extraordinaria que era como: Madre , Abuelita, Amiga . En fin ella tenia ,todas las cualidades que puede tener una mujer con un gran corazón. Descansa en Paz querida Astrid y que Dios te tenga en su Santo Reino.
