

Charlie leaves behind his father, Emil E. Zintner; a sister, Mary Zintner; two nieces, Rebecca and Sarah McCary; and two nephews, Jason and Brandon Zintner.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Caroline B. Zintner; and sister Joan McCary.
Charlie’s passions included stock car racing and sports—especially his beloved teams, the Green Bay Packers and the Virginia Tech Hokies, of which he was an alumnus.
He retired two years ago from his civil service position as a submarine specialist with the Department of the Navy. He was involved in a number of community activities, including volunteer coach for the freshmen football team at Colonial Forge High School and his parish church.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 13, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at St. Francis of Assisi in Triangle, with interment to follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
Charlie also had a special love for animals and thought of his horses, dogs and cats as members of his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 18825 Fuller Road, Triangle, VA 22172; or to your favorite charity.
