David Harmon Pickering, Sr.

He was the son of the late George and Ruth Baur, and stepson of Lyle Pickering.

He attended Mount Vernon HS in Alexandria, VA and American University in Washington, DC. Before opening his own CPA practice in 1964 he was employed by Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte). He was a long time parishioner of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA, and was a trustee of Latvian Catholic Mission, a charitable organization. Having lived a rich life centered around his family.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Pickering (nee Wooton), and their five children and spouses: David and Carolyn Pickering, Susan and John Wozney, Patricia and Robert Breland, Sally and Jason Walls, and Michael and Traci Pickering, and eight grandchildren.

The viewing will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, VA 22554 on Friday, September 28 from 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, September 29 at 11 AM. Interment will be at Stafford Memorial Gardens Cemetery, adjacent to the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Washington Hospice or the American Lung Association.
