She is survived by her three children, Jeremiah, Alayna, and Jayda; mother, Deborah Weller (Red Meaker); two sisters, Shannon Savage (Mark) and Megan DiGennaro (Joe); life partner, Devon Boone; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her father, David Downham.
Devon lit up every room she entered with her vibrant energy and radiant presence. She was the loudest and proudest voice in any crowd, full of humor, warmth, and a contagious laugh that could lift anyone’s spirits. Devon’s kindness knew no bounds; she had a sweet, generous soul and never judged a single person. She embraced everyone with love, and her heart belonged most deeply to her children, whom she adored beyond words. Being a mother was her greatest joy, and she was an incredible one.
As the beloved baby of the family, Devon proudly lived up to the role—spoiled in the best way and endlessly loved. A true mama’s girl, she shared an unbreakable bond with her mother. Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing she is now our guardian angel, watching over us with that same fierce love and beautiful light she shared every day.
Devon enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, dancing to all kinds of music, family cookouts and seafood boils, watching her kids and nieces and nephews play sports, and taking her kids to the playground, beach, pool, trampoline park, and Kings Dominion. She was big on family traditions around the holidays, and we promise to continue those in her honor. She was hardworking and took pride in her job as an amazing server. Her coworkers and regulars all speak fondly of the good vibes she brought to every shift.
Devon had a heart of gold—one that now beats in the chest of a 57-year-old man, thanks to the gift of organ donation. Her final act of generosity extended far beyond that, as many of her organs were gifted to save and enhance the lives of others. In honoring her last wish, Devon showed immense selflessness and compassion. She truly is a real-life hero, leaving behind a legacy of love, life, and hope.
Visitation will be at 12:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
Devon would not want anyone to feel obligated to dress fancy, so please feel free to come as you are.
A celebration of life will follow at Belle Plain Boat Club (981 Belle Plains Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405). This will be an outdoor event with food and drinks and an opportunity to enjoy fishing.
