Well Dora, your latest Great Grandchild has arrived, Justin Brock Maslock, he's a bundle of joy and a gift from God, Brit's glow of mother hood could not be brighter, Tina and I have got to be the Proudest Grand Parent's on the face of the Earth, we know you were there in spirit, and we know you will be watching over us all on Sunday when he is baptized, Lord how we miss you.

Well Grandma. I find out in 4 days whether I'm having a boy or girl. It's been hard being pregnant knowing my baby won't have the opportunity to know your love. We all miss you so much.

Hey woman.....  Wanted to update you on a few things. I am taking Aunt Lillian out on Thursday for her 89th birthday and it will be hard for both of us not having you there but we have our memories to help get us through. Also, we raised enough money from contributions sent in your memory and the memory of Jimbo Truslow to put that roof on the church. Joel,Ricky,Mike,Steve,John and Dan will begin on Friday which happens to be the 5 month anniversary of your death(isn't that special). Me,Britt,Carly,Ta'Lina,Haley and Pastor Gail will be doing one of the things that I do best and that is making all of the food and feeding the men. Dear Dora: You are heavily on my mind today, no particular reason, it's not your birthday, it's not a holiday...maybe you are just spending the day with me, I don't know..which brought me here. We just had Emma's 4th birthday party, I know you would've loved being there laughing at the kids and enjoying the cake. At some point during the party, I looked around, and out of all the chairs we had out, one was empty. I actually imangined you there for a second, in that empty chair. I see your pictures everyday in Emma's room and I smile sometimes, and I get sad sometimes. When I first put the pictures in her room she said "that's so I can think of Grandma Dora." She is so right. She is at school now, so she has no idea that I am thinking of Grandma Dora too.

Grandma, TJ and I are getting married in 3 weeks.I really wish you were still here for it.I miss you so much.I know we didnt see each other too much,considering the circumstances.Just know that i love you!I know your in a better place,take care of Darian for me..

Wow what a year!! Tomorrow will be 1 year since you had your stroke and changed all of our lives forever. Just wanted to tell you that "our baby" spent her first night at her new house last night. She is all grown up and I think we did a pretty great job! It was so strange to get up to an empty house this morning but I know it will get easier in time. I Love You and I miss you.

I miss you soo much! Its so hard coming upstairs every morning and not hearing hi baby. Dean had a dream that you told him you were ok. We are glad to hear it but we already knew you were. Me and Dean are buying a house! Everything is going well so far in the process. 
I still miss you soo much but i know you are in a better place with pop pop. I love you.

On your one month anniversary, I watched your life video..yes I cried again! That same night, I know you were at the at the house because I was the only one awake, watching TV, and my TV menu came up without me pushing any buttons. Pastor Gail just talked about spirits last weekend, I love and welcome your spirit around me. I miss you everyday.

Just some updates, Davey has gotten his license (SCARY) so please watch over him for me and when he's not doing well SLAP him in the head for me  to get him straight, lol. I miss you so much, I know its only been a month but I think about you daily. I have been going to church in your memory, and thats a hard thing for me being forced as a kid to go, but pastor Gail is very good at what she does and Bre loves her, and calls her "girlfriend" dont ask me where that came from, lol.

Hi, Mom I miss you so very,very much. I find myself thinking of you everyday. In the month since your passing, I often wonder how your  reception went in heaven.  I bet it is more wonderful than any of us could have imagined. I have a few things to share with you. First, Zach got his associates degree from Germana Comm. College. Second, I prevailed at the biggest loser contest, I lost 60lbs to win, but have decided to continue and I as of this moment have lost 64 lbs. Although the weight loss is harder, my determination will not wain. I credit you and dad for that.  Say hi! to dad, grandma, grand dad, and the countless others you will be seeing.  I love and miss so much, but rest assured one day we will see each other again.  Thank you for the gift you gave us all, before going home to heaven... Bye for now. Oh! Mom, I'm finding it hard to express how I feel. There is an emptiness inside me when I walk into the house and you're not there, yet I know you still exist in Spirit, I miss our arguments and laughter. I made a promise to Rock that I'd take care of his Girls, and I hope I'm living up to that Promise. I never got the chance to thnak you for the one gift you gave to all of us (especially me)(Tina), but I'll thank you now, and make you the same promise, I'll take care "Your Girls". We all know you have gone to Heaven, and will be watching over us, but it does'nt ease the pain or emptiness of you not being here, I'll come to terms with it in my own time, but I do at least have my Special Memories(Our Dance)and our time's at the Beach.    Hi Mom,  it has been one month today since you left this earth and went to your real home and joined all of our loved ones that went on before you. Although we miss you here terribly, I know that you are in a much better place where you are free of pain and suffering. There have been so many times when I have started to tell you something that may have happened in my day but then I remember that you are not physically here. I know that I can still talk to you but now in a different way. I am so thankful that I had so many years with you and I will cherrish all of the memories that we have together. I will always love and cherish you with all my heart, for you were my 2nd mother, in the 24 years that I have been in this family you have always taken very GOOD care of me. As for our golf cart rides they too will be cherished and one day we will ride again. Brianna misses you very much and says that grandma is in the sky. I will NEVER let her forget her grandma. As for your son, I will take good care of him.

To Dora's family - although I never got to meet any of you I just want to share a few memories with you - I spent my entire schools years with Dora from grade school to graduation - Many days I walked down to her house from my house behind SHS and spent the day with her out on the 'creek' where she taught me how to bait a 'crab line' and we'd spend the day laughing. I have only known Dora for about a year and a half.  But in that time, I have learned that everyone who knew her, liked her, and everyone who knew her well thought she was the nicest person they ever met.  Of all the family members, I know both Tina and Ricky the best, and Brittany and Dean next.  From knowing who they are and seeing their hearts, I know that Dora was a wonderful mother and teacher.  Emerson said a woman is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much.  She is successful who has gained the respect of intelligent people and the love of children, one who has accomplished her tasks and leaves the world a better place than she found it, who appreciates beauty and looks for the best in others while she gave the very best she had.  In learning to know Dora and her family, I believe Emerson must have checked in with Dora when he figured out these criteria, because Dora WAS that successful woman.  Her friends and family will remember her as all these things.  Memories can tell her family even more, because she will always echo within their thoughts and words.  What she was has become woven into what Tina and Joel, and Brittany and Ricky and all her family are and what they will still become.  It is plain to see her loving connection of family and friends resonating though each of them. The old saying  is, "The proof is in the pudding..."  Just look at all her pudding cups!  She cultivated her circle of family, love, tradition, history, and togetherness in such a positive way, that we can't help but know that she will always be around, helping and guiding her family through good times and bad times.  Dora has an amazing legacy and an amazing family.

To Brittany and the rest of the family: I am so sorry for your loss. In the little time I have known Brittany she has always had great things to talk about her Grandma, and I know she was a great woman. 
I was fortunate enough to meet her a couple of times, and she even knitted a blanket for my newborn in March. 
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in this tough time.

My wife, Fran, and I got to know Dora at Indian Acres where we both had "funsteads" and enjoyed each others company.  We watched Brittany
grow up while she spent lots of time with her grandmother.  We reluctanly left Indian Acres two years ago due to my health failing.  We miss our visits with Dora and family.

    My mom meant more to me than words could possibly say. Even in her weakened state she gathered enough strength to fulfill her goal and attend Brittany's wedding the weekend before her passing. By doing this she gave us another wonderful memory to cherish.

This candle is a symbol of the Dora I knew for No one could ever blow hers out. My best childhood memories where in her house in Stafford, watching the fireworks, playing cards,and her infectious laughter. Our family's went to the beaches and pools because where ever water was.. So was Dora :) I will never be able to pass any water without thinking of you and saying special prayer. I hope you swim away in heaven my dear friend.
To Dora's children,Grandchildren,and Great Grandchildren... I hope you find peace in this time of grieving an remember all the special times that you had. My heart goes out to each and everyone of you.. For I do know how special your Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma she was. Godspeed

I am so blessed to be a part of this family. I love you Dora! When I came into the family, you were so loving and made Alycia your grandchild without a second thought, she loves you so much and I'm sure she will always remember the Indian Acres sleepovers! You raised a wonderful son that I always love and take care of for you. I will never let Emma forget your soft hands! She knows you are in Heaven and you are not sick anymore. I love you and will miss you so much and not a day will go by that I won't think of you!

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you feel, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.
