E. Michael Spriggs II of Stafford, Virginia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara Spriggs, his greatest love and most trusted companion, and his children, his proudest accomplishments: Ryan Michael Spriggs, Emalee Spriggs, Taylor Campbell (Robert), and Hannah Hill (Austin). He lived each day showing them patience, strength, and unconditional love.
He was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren—Rhylee Campbell, Luke Sommerlott, Carson Hill, Caleb Hill, and Aurora Campbell—each of whom brought him endless joy, laughter, and fulfillment. To them, he was a constant source of warmth, wisdom, and fun.
Mike is also survived by his brothers, Wallace Spriggs (Debbie) and Wyatt Spriggs (Kim), and his sister, Sally Brooks, along with many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Spriggs of Lucasville, Ohio; his father, Earl Spriggs of Portsmouth, Ohio; his beloved son, Shawn Spriggs; and his nephews, Joshua Spriggs and Justin Brooks.
A humble and respected businessman, Mike built a lasting legacy through his own construction company, dedicating decades of hard work, honesty, and integrity to his craft. Beyond his business, he was an avid sports fan who found joy in the thrill of racing, the excitement of hockey, and the passion of football.
His family and friends will forever remember his quiet strength, his steadfast love, and the pride he carried for those closest to him. His impact will live on through his family, his work, and the many lives he touched.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Special Olympics or to a charity of your choice in his honor. In keeping with Mike’s wishes for privacy, a celebration of life will be held at a later date as they grieve the loss of a pillar of strength in their lives.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
