Howard William Lawrence

Billy was born in Stafford County on April 21, 1932, to the late Howard Joseph and Doris V. Lawrence. Billy graduated from Stafford High School and later earned his Doctor of Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary.

Billy retired in 1988 after 37 ½ years of combined service to the Air Force and as a Mechanical Engineer at Fort Belvoir. A lifelong member of Ramoth Baptist Church, he served on the Deacon board and was a Sunday School teacher since 1976.

Since retiring, Billy enjoyed reading his Bible, writing adventure stories and coin collecting, but his most favorite activity was spending time with his granddaughters, his pride and joy, acting as the chief taste tester of all their culinary creations.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and stepmother Beulah Lawrence, his beloved wife Betty and grandson Spc. Jeffrey William Lawrence II.

He is survived by his son Jeffrey Lawrence, his daughter Doris Ann (Jeff), brother Gregory (Margaret), granddaughters Taylor Lawrence, Kirstie Austin (Jacob), Cameran and Kiley Merritt.

A visitation for Howard will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ramoth Baptist Church, 478 Ramoth Church Rd, Stafford, VA. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 478 Ramoth Church Rd, Stafford, VA. A burial will occur Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery, 478 Ramoth Church Rd, Stafford, VA.
