

John was born in Maryland on September 2, 1941 to Francis and Mildred (Cain) Lynch.
He served in the United States Marine Corp and retired as a tanker driver with Exxon.
John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a past commander or the Lorton American Legion Post 162.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia Lynch, son; Bill Lynch (Kathy), daughters; Jane McGrath (Paul), Elizabeth Boyd and Kelly Buchan (Joe). Grandchildren; Jack and Christopher Lunch, Collin and Sarah McGrath, Nicholas, Kelsey, Justin, Tristan, Kiley, Rebekah, Daniella, Andrew and Sarah Farris, Mia and Cara Buchan, and Sean Currin Jr. and Chris Gordon, and a great grandson, Rolan Stewart-Lynch. 3 brothers; Francis Lynch (Helen), Thomas Lynch (Susan), and Ronald Lynch (Brenda) and 2 sisters, Mildred Kelly and Joan Lucas (Ken).
Inurnment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery with military honors on June 19, 2015 at 1:30pm
In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
