

Kenneth Cornell Morton, 69, of Stafford, VA, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Richmond, VA, with his wife by his side. Born in Albany, NY, Kenneth was a devoted husband, loving father, U.S. Army Veteran, and friend to all who knew him.
A graduate of Philip Schuyler High School and State University of New York Agricultural and Technical College in Cobleskill, NY, before proudly serving 23 years and 9 months in the U.S. Army before continuing his education receiving a Masters of Business Administration with a certificate of Government Acquisition from Strayer University. Kenneth further gave his service as a Government Contract Specialist at Fort Belvoir.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Morris J. Morton Sr.; his brother, Emmanuel O. Morton and his former wife, Emma L. Morton.
He is survived by his wife, Shekeela “Nikki” Morton; his daughter Meshala L.Morton and their daughter Maliyah G. Morton; bonus children Isaiah J. Simon, Mekhi A. Simon, Lakiesha Clark, and Cardell Clark; his mother, Nellie G. Morton; brothers Morris Jr., Willie (Pansy), Curtis, Joseph, and Benjamin (Sherri); many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
An avid outdoorsman, Kenneth was a member of the Flat Top Hunt Club in Spotsylvania County, enjoyed the nature and spent his time bow hunting, he enjoyed turkey gobbler season, trapping, and gardening. He earned a reputation for having the greenest grass in the neighborhood. He was also beloved for his legendary bean pies, shared with family, friends, and the community through Unforgettable Bean Pies, earning him the nickname “The Bean Pie Man.”
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Monday, August 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
