He was born on May 17, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Clarence and Bobbette (Miner) Kintner.
Kirby was great at everything he did. Professionally, he wrote proposals for major companies & became one of the best in the business. But while his work was important, nothing mattered more than his family.
When he was with them, he was fully present. And he loved to have a good time! Camping, throwing parties, boating, playing pool; he always kept his family close and put a smile on their faces.
Kirby was a great storyteller. Always had a joke for the occasion. He also had a passion for woodworking, building beautiful pieces of furniture and entire sections of his house by hand. There’s no skill he couldn’t learn.
He proudly served in the United States Navy, showing the same level of commitment to his country that he gave to his family.
In recent years, Kirby’s mind, always his greatest asset, started to escape him. But he still had his moments of clarity all the way up to the end. Those moments were focused on his love for his wife, mistress, and best friend, Margaret, who loves him with all her heart.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kintner; five children: Karin Marie Wagner (Robert, Jr.), Ron Kintner, Kirby Joseph Kintner, Christopher Ficke (Shelly) and Bobbette Kintner; one brother, Larry Duerk; (Roxanne) one sister, Robin McClendon; one sister-in-law, Linda Marchant; seven grandchildren: Claryssa Griffin, Justin Sottilare, Samantha Owens, Brandon Owens, Anthony Owens, Jonathan Ficke and Paige Green; two great grandchildren: Lillian and Emily Griffin.
