He is survived by his son, Bernie Dodson; daughters, Mary Wine (Thomas), Judy Newton, and Joyce Elmore (Randy); his brother, Walter Dodson; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dodson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen; his son, David Dodson; and his brothers, Louise, Russell, and Willard.
Lawrence was a Christian man who enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the birds. He loved his Mustang and driving through the mountains, taking in the scenery. In his younger years he enjoyed camping with his family.
A visitation for Lawrence will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
His celebration of life will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with his burial to follow at Stafford Memorial Park, 154 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
