Michael A. Ryan

Michael was born on June 17, 1960, to SSgt Joseph Patrick Ryan, Jr. and Gertrude Sophie Raab. As the son of a U.S. Air Force serviceman and a German-born mother, Michael spent his childhood living in various parts of the United States and Germany, shaping his appreciation for history and German culture.

A devoted father, proud patriot, and passionate historian, Michael found great joy in spending time with his children and exploring American history. He was a lover of music, an avid reader of nonfiction, and a gaming enthusiast who often played with friends and family. Michael also enjoyed traveling and collecting unique items such as swords, coins, and stamps.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude Ryan; his nephews, Mark Ryan and Jon Stewart Riley; and several beloved extended family members. He is survived by his daughters, Kaitlynn and Victoria Zacher and their families; his siblings, Elvira Enders, Henrietta (Eris) Cain, Kenneth (Susan) Ryan, and John (Lori) Ryan; as well as nieces, nephews, and Fiancé Billie Parsley who brought him great joy.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service in Stafford, Virginia. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend and honor his memory.
