Oral Edward Bridges Jr.

Oral Edward (Ed) Bridges, Jr., 71, passed away October 27, 2019 in Stafford, Va. He was born in Gideon, MO, son of the late Oral Edward Bridges and Betty Lou Wright Bridges. Ed spent 23 years in government service with the United States Navy and Coast Guard. After retiring from the USCG, he worked for Fairfax County for an additional 23 years. His fondest memories were the residents of Lincolnia Senior Center and groups who used the center. He enjoyed music and was a member of boy choristers as a child. He also enjoyed driving the back roads and peace and quiet. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Adelaide, son, Bradley (Amanda) of Jamestown, RI; daughter, Deborah (Carl) of Stafford, Va. Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Kate, Nick and Will of Jamestown, RI and Abby and Chloe of Stafford, Va. Visitation will be held Monday, November 4, 2019 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel at 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Va. A graveside service will follow at noon at Quantico National Cemetery.
