
Paul Davis enjoyed many things in life, but none more than the pursuit of knowledge. Among his numerous accomplishments were degrees from: The Indiana School of Education (Gabbard Institute), Educational Specialist , Eastern Michigan University, Masters of Arts for Teachers of Science, University of Michigan, Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts Degrees’ Eastern Michigan University, and a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan, along with numerous educational grants (University of Michigan (academic year), Penn State University, University of Wisconsin, Ball State University, and Indiana University, ), Doctoral Candidate nomination at University of Illinois, Urbana . Paul was also the State of Michigan Title VI Coordinator, a Licensed Mortician, accomplished Biologist and Educator. Mr. Davis was also an author with several publications and two licensed videotapes.
Paul will be greatly missed by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Julia, and his children, Emy and her husband Tony of Stafford, Glen and his wife Connie of North Carolina, Rupert his wife Olga of Texas and Patricia Tolar of Chicago. Paul was preceded in death by his loving daughter Ellie and his Father, Dr. Cloyd R. “Tom” Byrd, who are waiting for him with open arms. Paul is survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grand children, a much loved sister-in-law, Mrs. Shirley (Glen) Lawson, two nephews, one great-nephew and two great nieces. He leaves to mourn his faithful four-legged companion Charley.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to his physician’s, Dr. Russell Williams and Dr. Kambitz Yasdani. Our everlasting gratitude goes to Mrs. Beverly Wilkins who was Mr. Davis’ Hospice nurse during his illness.
A private service will be held at Mullins-Thompson Funeral Home in Stafford. Private interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation thru the Mullins-Thompson Funeral Home.
