

Peggy was born in Hurricane, West Virginia, daughter of the late Milton and Ima Ketchum. She moved to Stafford County with her late husband, John Peters, in 1972. She worked in the Stafford County school district as a teacher’s aide for 20 years. She retired in 1997 to devote more time to her true passion, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three children; Scott W. Peters and spouse (Kristine Peters) of Stafford, David K. Peters and spouse (Clarissa Peters) of Florida, and Sheri D. Cournan and spouse (Patrick Cournan) of Rappahannock; 5 siblings, Lois Kirkpatrick, Norman Ketchum, Barbara Lewis, Roger Ketchum, and Lorna Wallace, all of West Virginia.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Cody Peters and Samuel Stephens; Kaitlyn, Kourtney, and Sean Peters; Dillon McLaughlin and Katie Cournan; as well as one great-granddaughter, Arya Jacobs.
A service will be held at the Stafford Church of God, 649 Garrisonville Rd, on Saturday, January 7th, at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Peters requested that any donation be made on her behalf to the Ladies Auxiliary at Stafford Church of God.
