With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Forest O’Quinn on July 8, 2025, only days after the loss of his beloved wife, Lila Mae O’Quinn, who passed on June 27, 2025. Married for 59 years, Ronald and Lila shared a life marked by loyalty, deep love, and a bond that couldn’t be broken, not even by time.
Lila, proudly known as “Mom/Granny,” was born in Potter County, Pennsylvania, and raised on a farm. She was talkative, opinionated, fiercely loving, and never afraid to tell you what she thought. She had a tough exterior, but a heart that overflowed with love for her family. Holidays revolved around her: she cooked every dish, hosted every gathering, and made everyone feel welcome, whether they knew it or not. She loved Elvis Presley, owls, the color purple, and spent countless weekends enjoying crafting and local craft shows, where she found joy, inspiration, and plenty of conversation.
Ronald, known lovingly as “Dad/Papa,” was born in Carter County, Tennessee. A quiet soul with a sharp mind, he had a lifelong love of cars, westerns, and old guns. Though he was a man of few words, he was always listening, always present, and always ready to lend his steady hand. His calm nature and quiet sense of humor made him the grounding presence of the family.
Together, Ronald and Lila built a home rooted in Stafford County full of love and tradition. Their marriage was filled with quiet moments, loud opinions, shared jokes, and endless devotion. They were the center of the family, each balancing the other perfectly.
Ronald and Lila are survived by their daughter, Lynette Blakey, and their grandson, Dustin Blakey, along with Dustin’s wife, Melissa Blakey, and Lynette’s partner, Rory Cantrell.
Ronald is also survived by his sister Janice Seats, and Lila by her sister Doreen Hunt.
Together, they leave behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones, all of whom were touched by their love and generosity.
A joint memorial service will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service (186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford VA 22554) on Saturday July 26th. Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 2:00PM, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00PM where family and friends will gather to celebrate two lives beautifully lived and a love that will never be forgotten.
Now and forever, Ronald and Lila are together again, side by side, just as they always were.
