Barbara Ann Parese

Barbara Parese, longtime resident of Stamford, passed away on October 6, 2023. She was 88. Born in Greenwich, CT, she was the daughter of Vincent and Ann (LaGrippa) Stramiello. She was employed at Champion International where she worked as an administrative assistant.

Barbara was a member of Holy Spirit Church. She will be remembered for her lasting friendships, her positive attitude and her joy for life. She did not have a specific hobby. Barbara loved whatever she was doing at the time especially reading, dancing, knitting and her trips to the casino.

She was a valued volunteer at the Stamford Bennett Cancer Center and most important to her were her family and friends, especially her cherished aid Nellie who made her last years so memorable.

She is survived by her children Gary and Catherine Parese, Terry Parese-Gardone and George and Mark Parese. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jaclyne Parese, Brian Parese, Luke Gardone, Alexandra and Brandon Mahler and her first great-grandchild Henry Mahler. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Joseph (Chick) Parese. We will miss her laughter, Smiles and beautiful way.

A memorial to celebrate her joyful life will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023 at 10:30 am at The Church of Saint Cecilia 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT 06905. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Bennett Cancer Center, One Hospital Plaza, Stamford, CT.
