Carol Ann Winters, loving mother and dear friend to many, left this world on December 30, 2019 at the age of 81 after a wonderful holiday season surrounded by family and friends. Carol was a truly kind and compassionate woman who always put others ahead of herself. She was deeply spiritual and though raised an Episcopalian, Carol embraced all of the worlds major religions. After marriage she joined the Catholic Church and felt a deep connection with the Blessed Mother Mary. Carol had deep intuition and seemingly mystic abilities that she shared with hundreds of people over her lifetime.
A gifted mezzo soprano soloist, Carol sung in several choirs and was a successful actress. Carol was a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, held titled positions at Peabody Engineering and GE Capital and recently worked with Stamford Ophthalmology before retiring. Her greater life's work however was helping people through numerology and giving life readings. Carol’s life was full of magic and at the time of her passing, she felt her life complete and was absolutely at peace with leaving this realm. One of her most precious life experiences was having the honor and pleasure to work with John Denver at the Windstar Foundation in Colorado. She loved cooking, baseball (especially Canó when with the Yankees and then the Mets), gardening, singing, music, horse racing, dancing, spiritualism and the metaphysical.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ann Winters of Stamford and her former husband James S. Dugan. She is survived by her four children, James (wife Jackie), Kerry (wife Arun), Patrick and Eileen; three grandchildren Hannah McLeod (who lovingly called her Nana), Sarah Damon (husband Andrew), and Hannah Bacon, and a new great granddaughter, all of whom had the delightful pleasure of having Carol in their lives and whom Carol cherished.
Except for a while in Montpelier, VT, Carol lived her life in Stamford, CT. Carol had a very close relationship with her four children and spoke with most of them every day and shall be deeply missed by all those she touched. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary of Stamford at 566 Elm St. on Saturday, January 11th at 9:30AM.
