

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dolores, a woman of extraordinary kindness, compassion, and selflessness. She left this world on March 25, 2025 at 81 years old surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
Dolores lived with a heart full of generosity, always placing the needs of others before her own. She was a quiet force of love and warmth, offering support, comfort, and kindness to everyone who crossed her path. Whether it was a friend in need, a stranger who required a helping hand, or a loved one seeking guidance, she was always there, ready to give with open arms and an open heart. Throughout her life, she always remained a pillar of her community.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on September 9 ,1943 Dolores carried her values of love and service into every aspect of her life. She found joy in caring for her family, creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unwavering support. Dolores was an avid quilter and crafter. She enjoyed creating and gifting quilts for all newborn babies in the family and beyond. She was a line dancer for many years and always could be relied upon to get the “dancing going.” Her gentle spirit and boundless generosity touched many, and her legacy will live on in the many lives she has impacted.
She is survived by her daughter Dineen Farley, her grandchildren Dakota and Shawnee Sloop, and her siblings Anthony Volpe, Eddie Volpe, and Daniel Volpe who will continue to cherish her memory and strive to carry forward the love and kindness she so effortlessly shared. She was predeceased by her husband Bob Wanagaitis, her beloved sister Ann Carricato, her nephew Danny Volpe and her parents Angelo and Mildred Volpe.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 30th from 11-2pm at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home at 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT to honor the beautiful soul she was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Hospice in her memory, so that her giving spirit may continue to help others. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we take comfort in knowing that her love remains with us always. She was a light in this world, and her brightness will never fade.
