Doris was a devoted mother to Richard and Judith (Judi) Wilk, her children from her first marriage to Seymour Wilk. Her children were the light of her life and she was proud and loved them to the very last breath.
After her second marriage to Jules Silverstein, she subsequently moved to Mt. Laurel, NJ, where she worked as the office manager at Atlantic Disposal until she returned to Connecticut upon the death of Jules Silverstein in 1991.
In addition to her parents and husband Jules Silverstein, and her first husband Seymour Wilk, Doris was predeceased by her sister Shirley Sosnowitz, brother Murray (Bucky) Levine and sister-in-law, Harriet Levine. She is survived by her children, Richard Wilk and wife Bonnie of Stratford and Judi Wilk of Bridgeport, her sister Janet Bloom and brother-in-law Bernie Bloom of Trumbull.

She was passionate about her family and friends, always checking in with an open door for dinner, advice and plenty of laughs.
She was loved by all who knew her for her strength, courage, wit, wisdom and sense of humor which carried her through some challenges in her later years. Doris loved her family in so many ways and was often called upon to bake her amazing signature cakes for any special family occasion- often “too pretty to eat”!
Doris would want to express her appreciation and love for her many caregivers at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield where she resided for nearly 5 years.
