Elizabeth Marie M Lucas

E. "Marie" Lucas (Moran), 96, formerly of Old Greenwich, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov 25, 2014 at The Suffield House in Suffield, CT. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Frederick Lucas in 1971.

Daughter of the late James and Mary (Gleason) Moran, she was born January 25, 1918 in Stamford, CT. She attended St. John's School and graduated from Stamford High School. She had a strong work ethic and worked until she was in her early 80's. She loved the beach and spent many summer days at Tod's Point with her friends. Marie always had a smile on her face. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and aunt and always put everyone else's needs before her own.

She is survived by her two sons, Frederick Lucas and his wife Jean of Reisterstown, MD and Richard Lucas and his wife Jean of Enfield, CT; her grandchildren Barbara Lucas and her husband David Dickson of Glastonbury, CT, Sarah Lucas of Delray Beach, FL, and Elizabeth Lucas of Enfield, CT; her great-grandchildren Alexandra, Zachary, Olivia, Mason, Miles, and Natalia; her sister-in-law Signe Lucas; her niece Kathy Ambach and her husband Harry; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St, Stamford, CT on Wednesday Dec 3, 2014 from 11:00 am to noon. Funeral Service will follow at noon at the funeral home.
