Ellen Palumbo

November 3, 2012. She was born in Stamford, CT on October 9, 1925 to the late Antonio and Assunta DePaolo-Parese.

Ellen grew up in Stamford and was a graduate of Stamford High School.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, James J. Palumbo, to whom she was married for over forty years. Ellen resided in Darien for the past 17 years.

Ellen worked several years in the Rogers School cafeteria alongside her sister Mary.

She was an active member of St. Mary’s Rosary Society and St. Mary’s Senior Group.

Ellen was a fixture at the yearly St. Mary’s feast and the Holiday Fair as Mrs. Claus.

Another favorite past time of hers was spending time at Cummings Beach with her friends.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Toni E. Palumbo of Stamford and her son Dennis Palumbo and his wife, Mary Lee Santoro also of Stamford, CT. Ellen was a devoted mother who cherished her family, above all else, her entire life.

She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary LaGuardia and brothers William (Sonny) Parese and Joseph (Chick) Parese.

She will be forever remembered by many generations of nieces, nephews, and countless family and friends who were blessed to know her. Ellen touched the lives of many people with her infectious laughter, feisty spirit and generous heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at St. John’s Mausoleum, Darien, CT.
