Joan Elizabeth Sandow

2011 at the Royal Palm Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center in Vero Beach, FL.

Mrs. Sandow was born February 11, 1942 in Stamford, CT and was a part-time

resident of Vero Beach and Pisgah Forest for the past 6 ½ years.

Prior to her retirement she was a leading Realtor for 35 years in Stamford, CT

and active in the Republican Town Committee. Joan was an avid gardener and

president of the homeowners association at Laurel Lake Estates in Pisgah Forest.

Joan was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, William Sandow of Pisgah Forest, NC

and Vero Beach, FL; two sons William D. Sandow of New York City, NY and Thomas

H. Long of Canton, GA; daughter Terri Long of Hendersonville, NC; two sisters

Diane Labore of Meriden, CT and Carol Labore of New Haven, CT; and five

grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a brother Ted Labore.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 4-8 pm at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer Street Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT.
