

John graduated from Port Chester High School before serving his country as a radar repairman in the US Army, stationed in Gelnhausen, Germany, with the 3rd Armor Division as SPC4. His dedication and hard work were evident both in his service and in his academic pursuits. He attended Westchester Community College and Norwalk Community College, earning associate degrees in both arts and sciences.
On June 14, 1969, John married the love of his life, Maureen Clancy. Together they built a beautiful family until Maureen's passing on April 6, 2008. John is survived by his two devoted daughters, Michelle and Lisa Vaccaro, and his two cherished grandsons, David Vaccaro and Anthony Mancini. He also leaves behind his loving sister Maria Sardos, his sister Paula Frerich, and his brother Canio Vaccaro. His nephews, Brian Pepi, David Pepi, Michael Pepi, Vincent Frerich, and Nikolas Sardos, will also dearly miss him.
John's professional journey was marked by his passion for excellence and dedication. He began his career at Rye Ford as a parts man, and later worked at Clairol, Heublein, VCA Sales Fragrance Pumps, Estee Lauder, Cheesebrough Ponds, Elizabeth Arden, and Matic Plast Milano, holding various positions such as purchasing agent, purchasing director, and marketing director. His professional accomplishments were a testament to his commitment and expertise in the field.
Beyond his career, John had a deep love for his family, friends, and his beloved Shih Tzu grandogs. His passion for hotrods was well-known, and he found great joy in sharing this hobby with those around him.
John's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of love, dedication, and enthusiasm for life will be cherished forever.
Rest in peace, John Vaccaro. You will be dearly missed.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bridget Church located on 278 Strawberry Hill Ave, Stamford, CT 06902 on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11 AM. Graveside service with full military honors will follow after at St. John Cemetery located on 25 Camp Ave, Darien, CT 06820.
