Kurt is survived by his devoted wife, Cathy Tauss; his daughters Amanda Elgert and Chrissy Parrish; his sons-in-law Adam Elgert and Aaron Parrish; and his sister-in-law Barbara Hasty. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Sophie (12), Eva (10), James (9), and Bennett (7), each of whom brought him immense joy.
For many years, Kurt was the proud owner of Make-Up Center in New York City, where he dedicated his life to helping people look and feel their best. His kindness, talent, and steady presence touched countless lives.
Kurt loved the simple things that made life rich—playing handball, watching the Yankees, swimming, cooking, skiing, days spent at the beach, and, above all, making his family laugh. He faced every challenge in life with courage and grace, including his long battle with Alzheimer's, meeting each day with strength and an unwavering spirit.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, December 18, from 5pm to 7pm at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home in Stamford.
