Dear Cheryle and Kimberly,  I am sorry for the loss of your dear Mom. I remember her from our childhood days, having grown up on Oaklawn Ave., knowing your Mom and her brothers well. I pray for her, for you and for your family as you mourn your loss.

My deepest condolences and prayers are with you at this difficult time.  Linda was a wonderful, giving, and caring person.  She always thought of everyone else.  We met when she and Sal had the bake shop on Bedford Street, almost twenty years ago.  We became friends and family, that's the way she was.  When my parents passed away, they were right there with baked goods and support.  Every St. Joseph's Day, when they were in the Glenbrook location, was a special day.  A beautiful statue and specially prepared table were on display, along with the delicious pastries that had been blessed by one of the Fathers from Sacred Heart Church.  When I visited Linda in February, she told me when she went, she and Sal would be baking Angel Food cakes, in heaven.  Until the end, she still had her sense of humor and her strong faith in God.  She was not afraid of going.  She was so thankful of the love and care that all of you gave her, during her illness.  I told her that you were all her family and she passed it down.  God bless all of you.  Now she is watching over and praying for you.  Her family was the light of her life.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Linda's passing, we met the first day my family opened Cerbone's Bakery on newfield avenue, over 30 years ago, and we remained friends since then, your grandmother Helen was one of my best customers and we adored her....it didn't matter if we didn't see each other in weeks or months, we always picked up where we left off... she was a wonderful friend to me and i will miss her dearly...we had so much fun at her and Sal's wedding, she loved her daughters and lived for her grandchildren...I can't tell you how sorry I am, this is such a tremendous loss for everyone who knew her..my thoughts and prayers are with you all.... I've know Linda since junior HS and every now and then we would bump into each other and have a "catch up"session and have a good time !! She even made my daughters wedding cake which was great ! I was not aware that she was sick and I am so very sorry to hear she has passed. God Bless your family at this very sad time. Linda was a wonderful giving happy lady who will be missed.

I vividly remember the first time I met Linda.  I was 15, Ferrara's was Le Crème Puff Bakery and they were on Bedford St.  I walked in to purchase some cookies and when Linda saw I only wanted a quarter pound she told me to just take them.  She wouldn't take any money and just said I hope you enjoy them and when you come to get more, you can pay then.  That was so typical of Linda, very generous, kind and very sarcastic.  A few months later they needed a counter girl and I went in and interviewed with Sal.  They hired me on the spot.  Years later Sal and Linda would joke around telling me how they thought to themselves; if she can work as fast as she talks we made a great decision.  That started my 20 year friendship with Linda, Sal, Kim and Cheryle.  Some of my fondest memories are of times spent with both of them in the bakery both on Bedford St and High Ridge Rd.  I'll never forget how you made me feel like a daughter and never an employee.  I love you Linda and I'll miss you greatly. Rest in eternal peace, Monica Arteaga (Brown).
