She was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 29, 1962. She grew up in Staten Island, in Bay Terrace and graduated from New Dorp High School in 1980. Afterwards, Marcy attended art school in both Miami and New York to further her appreciation of the arts and hone her skills.
Marcy was an incredibly empathetic and intuitive person who cared deeply for animals and anyone in need. As an animal lover she is leaving behind three cats and one bunny rabbit who will miss her dearly. Soon after high school she worked for United Cerebral Palsy showing patience and compassion to members of her community. She lived in the words of her favorite author, Anne Rice, “The greatest create of power you have on earth, whether you are an angel, a spirit, a man or woman or child is to help others.”
She lived a full and vibrant life on Staten Island, with summers in Florida. She took guitar lessons with Jimmy Mack and hung out with David Johansen in the 70s. She lived in Manhattan, worked at Manhattan’s Club 82 in the 1980s and ran a daycare out of her house in Connecticut. Her creativity led her to start her own all-natural business, Happy Horse & Rider, crafting skincare products for equestrian needs. You could always find her making something new and wonderful from golden mermaid soap to large mixed-media pieces influenced by her favorite artist, Hieronymus Bosch. Her exploration of the arts didn’t stop with the physical; she also deeply enjoyed Shakespeare and the opera.
Marcy was a complex individual who loved both the macabre and Disney. Her family would take trips every year to experience the magic. These trips originated in spending her childhood summers in Florida with her cousins Sheila Lesensky, Gary Robbins, Barbara Robbins, and Sam Robbins.
Marcy is survived by her daughter Alexx Wolf, mother Cecile Roth, and several cousins.
A graveside funeral will be held 11am on Sunday, July 2nd at Fairfield memorial park in Stamford, CT. Additionally, there will be a gathering nearby following the service at 22 Birchwood Road in Stamford. The family has requested any memorial donations be made to Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary outside Denver, CO in honor of Marcy’s dedication to taking in and caring for animals in need.
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be held on Zoom:
