

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Peggy) Cullina Pritchard, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on August 6, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband Bob and two daughters Anne and Cathy. Surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, she peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
Born on December 11, 1931, Peggy dedicated her life to her family and her community. She is survived by her older brother Gene (Elaine) and predeceased by her beloved sister Ci and brothers Tom, Jack, and Dave. She was a steadfast and devoted mother of seven children: Anne, Cathy Drinkwater (Bill), Rob (Kathy), Peg Picone (Joe), Jim (Karen), Tom (Margot), and John (Sarah). She instilled in them the values of compassion, generosity, and family. Her love extended to her nine grandchildren: Susan, Ryan (Christine), Colin (Laura), Joshua, Michael, Abiah (Mike Zhu), Kimberly, Emily, and Nicole, and her great-grandchild Grace, all of whom were her pride and joy.
Peggy’s home was always a place of comfort and joy, filled with laughter, delicious food, and the love that only she could provide.
Peggy was known for her selflessness and her tireless dedication in support of others. For many years, she volunteered at local school libraries, the Ferguson Library, and The Smith House Nursing Home where her contributions made a significant impact.
Peggy will be remembered for her boundless love, dedication to her family, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her kind and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of those of us who were fortunate enough to know her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her dear friend Margot who was a supportive, steadfast, and kind presence through it all.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 11 from 2-6 PM at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Monday, August 12 at St. Cecilia’s Parish, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ferguson Library (1 Public Library Plaza, Stamford, CT 06901) or the Stamford Firefighters Burn Foundation (629 Main St., Stamford, CT 06901), causes that were close to Peggy's heart.
