Maria Serpa

Maria A. Serpa, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2015 after a courageous and graceful battle with cancer. She was a strong and beautiful caring soul. Her heart and home were always open. Maria was a great cook who enjoyed preparing delicious Cuban meals for her family and friends and growing beautiful welcoming flowers in her garden.

Maria was born on May 10, 1938 in Cuba and came to the United States in 1968. A long resident of Stamford, she worked at Clairol for over twenty years. She was happily married for 46 years to her beloved husband, Benigno, who predeceased her. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mabel (Mae) Serpa Esposito and beloved granddaughter, Alexandra Maria Bryce, her husband Colton and great-grandaughter, Madelyn Grace Bryce who she called her little treasure “tesorito”. Also surviving are her brother, Roberto and sister Eneida in Cuba. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Berto and sister Mirella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., in Stamford on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
