Marion McCarthy Cullen

Marion McCarthy Cullen passed away peacefully on Thursday September 15th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at Stamford Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Stamford and was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Freda (Sworbach) McCarthy. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, St Leo's Seniors and the Stamford Womans' Club. Her beloved husband Joseph Anthony Cullen preceded her in 2001 after 48 years of marriage. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving son Joseph A Cullen Jr and his wife Katie of Stamford and her daughter Sheila Cullen Dunn and her husband Craig of Brookville, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored, Brian (Marie) Cullen, Meaghan Cullen, Timothy Cullen and his fiancé Ciara Hickey, Patrick Cullen, Kelly Cullen, Andrew Dunn and Caroline Dunn and two great grandchildren, Leo Cullen and Mac Cullen. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Feighery (Jack) and sisters-in-law, Margaret Cullen and Claire McCarthy as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother William McCarthy, brothers-in-law John Cullen, William Cullen and sisters-in-law Helen Cullen and Anne Cullen.A funeral procession will leave Leo P. Gallagher & Sons Funeral Home 2900 Summer Street Stamford on Tuesday at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford.
