Mignon Villency (February 19, 1918-January 27, 2018) passed away peacefully in Stamford, CT three weeks shy of her 100th birthday. Former Great Neck, NY resident for 45 years. Hunter College class 1940; graduate work Cornell University & University of Wyoming. Met husband Charles, former newspaper reporter and US Treasury Department official, while working at NY Daily News. Amid a love for music, languages, literature, opera, and world travel, they shared a 54 year marriage. Dedicated NY city teacher, Mignon was the cherished mother of Lynn Villency Cohen and son-in law Stephen A. Cohen, and adored grandmother of Ariel Rosenthal and Rachel Cohen. Predeceased by husband Charles, daughter Roxanne Villency and brother Judge Sidney Fenster. The family is grateful to Mignon's devoted caregiver Patricia Grant.
