ROBERT "BOB" DREIER, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 12th following a short illness. Bob was a 1944 graduate of New York University's Washington Square College of Arts & Science, and enjoyed a successful career as a sound engineer for NBC. Bob was active in the Freemason community, and later in his life, he remained a dedicated volunteer with the Volunteer Services for the Blind of Fairfield County.
A longtime resident of Springdale, Bob will be remembered as an honest, generous, and gregarious man who, with a few jokes and kind words, made friends wherever he went. He had a passion for life and learning, and enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by friends and family.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice (nee Slotnick), son Eric (Patricia LaFortune), and daughter Cindy Johnson (Richard). Bob was a dedicated grandfather to his four grandchildren Alex (Amanda), Michael, Jenny Love (Dion), and Amy Bowser (Eric), and a proud and loving great-grandfather to Jordie, Jamie, and Evan Love, and Kate Bowser.
Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Bob's life on Tuesday, June 14th from 5-8 pm at Bouton & Reynolds Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford. Service will be at 7:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Volunteer Services for the Blind of Fairfield County.
