Shirley Ann Clark-Williams, was born on May 10, 1954, to parents Johnnie Mae Lamrick-Clark and William Clark Sr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Long Ridge Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Stamford, CT surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Georgiana, Alabama and as a young woman ventured out and moved to Connecticut in 1973 after graduating high school.
Shirley was a member of the Greater Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church in Stamford where she served on the Usher Board Ministry, with dedication and commitment.
Loved by so many, Shirley was a humble and fun loving person who touched the heart of everyone she came in contact with. She lived a wonderful life and always enjoyed being around her family, especially during the holidays and when the family in Connecticut got together to sell dinners. Shirley made a delicious potato salad that no one else can duplicate. Shirley also loved her music, everything from blues to the Gospel.
Even though she loved her family, there was nothing more important to her except God, whom she loved with her heart and soul. If you sat in the pews at Greater Faith when Shirley was there, you would always hear Shirley’s voice and see her standing and praising God.
She leaves to cherish her four children, Cynthia (Scott) Paris, Jermaine Williams, Derrick Williams, and Alfonso Williams, her loving siblings, William Clark, Jr., Steve (Alexis) Clark, Johnny (Connie) Clark, Walter (Sabrina) Clark, Paul Clark, Charles E. Clark, Dewayne Clark, Edward (Vera) Dixon, Stella Clark, Barbara Clark, Evelyn (Ricky) Sallie, Helen Clark, Pauline Clark, 9 Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Johnnie Mae and William Clark, Sr., one brother, Mr. Thomas Clark, and one Sister In Law, Evelyn (William) Clark,
Although it saddens our heart that Shirley has passed away in this life, we know that she is with the Lord now, and it was well with her soul.
