

Sirlinda DeGraffenried, affectionately know as Linda or Big Red, was born to Mr. Elbert Craig and Ms. Sallie Mae DeGraffenried on September 19, 1963. She was raised in Aliceville, Alabama by her mother Sallie Mae, and loving step-father, Willie James Hughes.
Linda graduated from Aliceville High School in 1982 and relocated to Stamford, Connecticut where she resided at the time of her passing. She graduated from Sanford Brown Institute and became a medical billing and coding specialist. Linda worked at the Heart Institute at Westchester Hospital until her medical retirement.
Linda dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and remained a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle Church until her passing.
Linda was a God-fearing woman who was well known for her humility, kindness, loving and compassionate spirit. She loved cooking, baking, spending time with her family, friends, and most recently cruising,
Linda was preceded in death by her father, mother, step-father, and sisters: Pamela Hughes, Sylestria DeGraffenried, Maudine Barnes, and Lavaughn Walten: and brothers Roy Craig Sr., and Kenneth Hughes
Linda leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Jamaal (Izina) DeGraffenried of Pittsfield, MA; Isaac (Rebecca) Snagg of Groton, CT; Neville Denton and Briana Lane of Stamford, CT. Her grandchildren: Jamaal, Andrew, Jeremiah, Quincy, Jacob, Isreal, and Zion. Siblings Doris (Walter) Wilder of Moundville, AL; Sonyna DeGraffenried of Aliceville, AL; Cynthia DeGraffenried of Odenton, MD, Regina (Carl) Peoples of Northport, AL: Lucinda Craig of Birmingham, AL; Burnice (Larry) Sutton of Eutaw, AL; and Eddie (Evonne) DeGraffenried of Killeen, TX. A loving niece Tusia DeGraffenried that she adored. A host of nieces and nephews, to include 3 great-great nieces Alonna Brown, Maryha Foster, and . Special friends Shuphan McDonald, Neville Denton Sr., Ramona Lewis, Alice Graves, Lee Johnson, Denise Dolphin, and Maureen Singleton. A special acknowledgment to Dawn Snell for her enduring support.
Internment and repast will be conducted in Aliceville, AL.
