George Hamilton Wheeler Sr.

He was born in Demorest, Ga., son of the late John and Elizabeth Goss Wheeler.

Mr. Wheeler retired from Burgess Transport Company, Charlotte.

Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Kiker Wheeler; one son, George Hamilton Wheeler, Jr. and wife Barbara of Alexis; three daughters, Gerri Almond and husband Tommy of Lucia, Georgia Anne Fisher of Alexis, Teresa Annette Wheeler of Lincolnton; one brother, Kenneth Wheeler and wife Susan of Saluda, North Carolina; ; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Gardens with the Rev. Charlie Wilborn officiating.

The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Thomas Wheeler, Cletus Wheeler; sister, Geneva Furr.
