Jesse W. Huffstickler

Jesse William Huffstickler, 89, of Lincolnton and formerly of Stanley, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2013 at CMC Lincoln. He was born in Cabarrus County and was the son of the late Jesse and Lula Wellington Huffstickler.

Mr. Huffstickler was a veteran of the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a Life Member of the American Legion and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 266 of Stanley and the 40-8 group. He was a former member and past assistant Chief of the Stanley Fire Department. He was also a member of the Stanley Optimist Club and First Baptist Church of Stanley.

Mr. Huffstickler was a retired Electrical Contractor and former owner of B & H Electric Company, Stanley.

Mr. Huffstickler is survived by his wife of 69 years, Avis Bradley Huffstickler; two sons, Bill Huffstickler and life companion, Judy Holdaway of Iron Station, Jeffrey Mack Huffstickler of Stanley; three daughters, Kawna Colvard and husband Bob of Lincolnton, TJ Jerry Abbington and life companion, C R Webb of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sonya Huffstickler of Lincolnton; three sisters, Marion Rhyne and husband Doug, Florence Broome and husband Richard, Ruth Austin of Gastonia; one brother, County Huffstickler of Florida; six grandchildren, Amy Weathers, Jennifer Carpenter and husband Jason, Christine Huffstickler, Amanda Yount and husband Kelly, Jessup Colvard, Jesse Demin; five great grandchildren, Allie Yount, Lydia Weathers, Nora Weathers, Mariella Weathers, Meridith Yount.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5 at Carothers Funeral Home, Stanley.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Watts officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens.

Mr. Huffstickler was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete, Leroy (Freck) Ralph Huffstickler, sisters, Ester Huffstickler and Reece Waters.
