Born on July 22, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, Agnes lived a full life rooted in love and family. She made her home in Staten Island for 43 years before relocating to Pembroke Pines, Florida in 2016.
Above all, Agnes cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters Patricia Mercurio and Susan Butler, (son-in-law Michael); a proud grandmother to Alexa Masciantonio (Charles), Kevin Mercurio (Remy), Nicolette Maniatakos, and Christian Maniatakos (Alexa); and a cherished great-granddaughter Lucia Rose, born shortly before her passing. Although Agnes did not have the opportunity to meet Lucia, the family takes comfort in knowing that her love and legacy will live on in the newest generation.
She is also survived by her beloved siblings, brother Artie Cinquini (Linda), and sister Connie Cinquini, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she held dear to her heart. Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved husband Pasquale William, and her parents John and Susie Cinquini.
Agnes was a dedicated employee at Macy’s, where she worked for over 20 years before retiring. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers alike.
Agnes will be remembered for her strength of character, vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she found in simply spending time with those she held dear. She created a beautiful, warm home—one filled with tradition and unconditional love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 10 at Casey McCallum Rice Funeral Home (Nelson Ave, Staten Island) from 4pm-8pm.
The funeral mass will be held at St Clare’s Church, Staten Island, on Wednesday, June 11 at 10:15am.
Agnes will be laid to rest at Moravian Cemetery.
Bridge of Love
There is a bridge of memory.
From earth to heaven above.
It keeps you always near us,
it’s called the bridge of love.
May you always walk in sunshine
and God’s love around you flow,
for happiness you gave us,
no one will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you.
The day God called you home.
