

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. -- Former Staten Islander Angel (Louie) Correa, 43, of Old Bridge, N.J., a devoted husband and father, died Tuesday in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Manhattan, after a battle with leukemia.
Born and raised in Salinas, Puerto Rico, he was educated there. After he and Jodi Medina wed in 2001, the couple moved to Great Kills. They relocated to Old Bridge in 2005.
Mr. Correa had been working as an operating engineer at DiFazio Industries in Mariners Harbor. He was a member of Local 15A, International Union of Operating Engineers.
He enjoyed fishing, watching car racing and rooting for the New York Giants.
Mr. Correa loved to spend time with his family, especially his daughters.
Surviving, along with Jodi, his wife of 13 years, are his daughters, Arianna and Ciara Correa; his mother, Miriam Rodriguez; his brothers, Pedro Correa and Gilberto Vazquez, and his sisters, Emma Santiago and Vivian and Jackie Correa.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's R.C. Church, both in Great Kills. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
