Angelina Romano

Angelina Romano, nee Melissari,age 86, of Staten Island, New York passed away on May 27, 2023, at Clove Lakes Nursing Home, where she was a resident since 2015. She was 86 years old. Angelina was born and raised on Staten Island and lived in New Dorp for much of her life. She worked at a chocolate factory in Brooklyn until she married Edward Romano in October of 1960. Angelina was dedicated to her family and faith. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved cooking and baking and could always be found in her kitchen. Holidays were always special at her home, which she filled with love and laughter. Angelina was a friend to all who knew her; her warmth and compassion for others was evident as soon as you met her.

Angelina is predeceased by her husband, Edward Romano, her parents Louis Melissari and Anna Raia Melissari, and her brother, Anthony (Nino) Melissari. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Ferraroni and her son-in-law, Louis; son Michael Romano and daughter-in-law Dawn. She is also survived by five grandchildren Louis Ferraroni, John Ferraroni and his wife, Jasmine, Alexandra Benjamin, Edward Romano, and Rachele Romano, and two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Zachary.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Casey McCallum Rice Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Ave. Service will be held at 10:00 at Casey McCallum Rice Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, and interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
