Devoted wife and mother

Ann Marie Messier passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, in her residence in Sunrise Senior Living on Staten Island, N.Y., at the age of 90. Ann and husband, Edward Messier, were longtime residents of Grant City on Staten Island before moving to Sunrise in October 2017. A devoted wife and mother, Ann and Ed raised two children, Brian and Nancy. She loved spending time surrounded by family. Ann was an advocate for and passionate lover of animals both great and small.

Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Edward, and their children, Brian married Cindy and has two daughters, Danielle and Nicole, and Nancy married Timothy and has two sons, Anthony and Joseph. She also had two great-grandchildren from Anthony and Justine, Zackary and Anthony.

A wake will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Casey-McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Ave. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place Friday, March 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church, 130 Midland Ave.
