Ann Marie Sesely

Had a wonderful life filled with love, family & friends' Ann Marie Sesely (nee Stratford), 77, of Sunnyside passed away on December 17, 2021 at New York Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center. Born and raised in West Brighton, she later moved to Sunnyside in 1968. Ann worked at Con Edison in Manhattan, NY before becoming a homemaker and later a dental assistant. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hill Academy and earned a dental assisting certification from S.I. University Hospital. Ann was a lifelong parishioner of St. Teresa's Church, Castleton Corners. Beloved mother and grandmother, affectionately known as "Nan", she had a wonderful life filled with love, family, and friends. She enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to music, going to the library, playing board games with her grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. She was predeceased by her loving husband John A. Sesely, Jr. in 1995. She is survived by her son Kevin Sesely and two daughters, Lauren Barraza and Cara Fontes. She has six grandchildren who she loved dearly and brought her happiness every day. The funeral will be held Sunday, December 19th from Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, from 3 – 7 p.m. with a mass Monday, December 20th at 9:30 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
