It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Algozino on January 13, 2025, at the age of 82. Anthony was a long-time resident of Great Kills, Staten Island, and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He retired from the printing industry in 2002 and began a second career with the New York City Board of Education. He retired from PS 37 in Great Kills, where he enjoyed being around children with special needs and was lovingly referred to as “Mr. Tony”.
Anthony was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia, who passed away in 2023, as well as his brother Matthew. He is survived by his sister Lillian Walla; his daughter, Jodi Traina and her husband Dominic; his son Joseph Algozino, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Kate and Maggie Traina.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 at the Church of Saint Clare, 110 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308, followed by burial at Saint Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale, NY.
