Antoinette M. Horan, a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister passed away at home on July 6, 2025 with her husband, John J. Horan, by her side. She was born in Brooklyn on February 13, 1952 to Thomas and Josephine DiCamillo. After losing her mother at a young age, she moved with her father, stepmother, Mina, sister Louise and brother Thomas to Staten Island. She graduated from Tottenville High School and began working for Chase Manhattan Bank. On October 28, 1972, a friend of Antoinette’s set her up on a blind date, where she met the love of her life. They have been together ever since. They were married on September 1, 1974. Shortly after they were married, they bought their home in New Dorp, where they raised three children, James, Patricia and John.
Antoinette was a homemaker for many years. Somehow, she did it all, running three kids to school, hockey, soccer, basketball and every other activity. All while having a home cooked meal ready to go every night. She didn’t miss a game or an event. Antoinette loved being a Mom and she was an amazing one. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and cooking. It did not matter how big or small the party was, Antoinette was in the kitchen cooking for days. As her children got older, Antoinette started working in daycare. The perfect job for her. She worked at Kiddie Academy until she left to become a full-time Grandma. She enjoyed every minute she had with Catherine, Jack and Rylee. Antoinette enjoyed travelling with her family, especially with her grandkids, from Disney World to renting a house on the Delaware River. No matter where she was when she got home she had to catch up on her General Hospital, couldn’t miss it so she could have GH chats with her daughter in law, Emilie. All that mattered is she was spending time with those she loved that loved her dearly.
Antoinette was predeceased by her father Thomas DiCamillo, mother Josephine DiCamillo and stepmother Mina DiCamillo. She leaves behind her beloved husband, John J. Horan, her children James Horan, Patricia and Keith Rabold, John and Emilie Horan; and her beautiful grandchildren Catherine Rabold, Jack Horan and Rylee Horan. Her cherished sister Louise DiCamillo-Cackowski and brother, Thomas DiCamillo. Also, many beloved, nephews, a niece, grandniece and grandnephews.
