

He was born September 16. 1951 to Alonzo and Netta (nee Crocitto) McDonnell. He attended St. Peter’s High School and Staten Island Community College.
He was a life long Islander growing up in West New Brighton relocating approximately twenty years ago to the Mariner’s Residence. He was in declining health for approximately four years, spending the last two years at the Staten Island Care Center.
He was as unique as his first name. in fact he embraced it as a sign of his individuality.
Although he did not obtain a college degree he was a life long learner. He focused on science, mathematics and philosophy. He instilled a love of science in two generations of nieces and nephews, who will carry his curiosity with them throughout life.
He was pre-deceased by his sisters Anne Finley, Mary Zanca his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his brother John McDonnell, a niece, nephews and cousins.
He will be waked from Harmon Funeral Home on Sunday November 13 with viewing 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Burial will be Monday November14 in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.
